Each group will have
approximately 20-25 minutes for its project presentation. The first
person to present in each group should use a maximum of 2 minutes to
present an overview of the project, i.e. tell us what your group is going to be
telling us, and to introduce the members of the group. Each member of the group
will then give 5-7-min presentations on the topics given below. These
presentations should be practiced and timed since points will be lost for
presentations that are too long or too short by more than 30 seconds. The group
should also move smoothly from one presenter to the next. After all members of
the group have presented (15-20 minutes), there will be 5
minutes for answering questions from the audience.
The presentations
should use on-line access to the group's material via the World Wide Web. This
may be supplemented by material on the overhead projector. (It would be a good
idea to have overheads of important WWW pages in case Internet access is not
available at the time of the presentation.)
Each member of the team should prepare one topic. One portion (50%) of
the grade will be assigned to the team based on the quality of all of the
presentations from within the group. There will also be an individual weighting
(50%) of grades based on each individual's presentation and the person's
ability to answer questions at the end of the group's presentation.
Each presentation
will be evaluated by the remaining members of the class, i.e and those not in
this group. Scores will be given based on organization and audiovisual aids,
whether the talk was interesting and the speaker well-prepared, and the
scientific content of the presentation.
Summary of grading
system:
50%
- group presentation.
50% - individual presentation and ability to answer questions.
